DOT Makes Additional Investment in Public Transit Development

The department will fund repairs, upgrades, and additions to trains, buses, and ferries.

The Department of Transportation released an additional $9.9 billion to support public transit in the nation, continuing to distribute funding allocated by the 2021 Bipartisan Infrastructure Law. This funding will help boost public transit operations, offer train, bus, and ferry station maintenance, and plan and design new transportation corridors for local communities.

“When we invest in public transit, we improve daily life for millions of Americans across the country, and make it easier, safer, and more affordable to get around communities of every size,” said Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “The Biden-Harris administration is making the largest investment in public transit in U.S. history, including $9.9 billion announced today, to help communities improve public transit and expand it to reach more people than ever before.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Buttigieg to receive God’s guidance as he heads the Department of Transportation.
  • For the funding recipients to make efficient and effective use of the investments for public infrastructure.
